Erin Evans, a Niles, Ohio native and Kent State University graduate, has been appointed accounting manager for the new Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio, the nonprofit organization created last year by the merger of Clubs in Cleveland, Akron, Lorain County and Erie County.

Evans formerly served as the human resources and accounting coordinator for Boys & Girls Clubs of Cleveland, one of the Clubs that merged last year. She had held that position since 2016.

In her new role, she will manage accounting functions for BGCNEO, which serves more than 8,600 kids at 39 locations in the region, and report to Controller Nick Suetta. Boys & Girls Clubs provide safe, fun places for kids ages 6-18 after school, focusing on healthy lifestyles, academic success and character.

“We are fortunate to have someone with Erin’s skillset, focus and talent on our staff,” said Ron Soeder, BGCNEO’s interim president and CEO.

Evans grew up in the Mahoning Valley community of Niles, graduated from Niles McKinley High School and moved to Cleveland in 2009. She currently lives in Cleveland’s Ohio City neighborhood.

After working in human resources and accounting roles in the construction industry, she decided to search for a way to use her knowledge and experience to give back to the community. That led to her joining the staff of BGCC in 2016.

Outside of her duties with BGCNEO, Evans in 2017 was appointed treasurer of The Camelot Center, a nonprofit horseback riding center in the Trumbull County community of Southington.
